Job description:

Beverley Building Society is one of the UK’s longest-established building societies — proud of our 150+ year heritage and excited about our future. We're expanding and looking for a detail-oriented, CeMAP-qualified Mortgage Underwriter to join our growing team.

Reporting directly to our Mortgage Operations Manager, the role has the aim of working in a team which delivers a high-quality service that supports the achievement of our ambitious growth plans, whilst at the same time focusing on achieving excellent customer service.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Reviewing and assessing mortgage applications
Verifying customer documentation and circumstances
Advising on mortgage products (phone & in-branch)
Supporting mortgage intermediaries, solicitors, and customers
Maintaining accurate records and application notes
Monitoring inboxes and responding to enquiries
Ensuring full compliance with mortgage policies and FCA regulations
Helping shape team strategy and contribute to ongoing growth

What We’re Looking For:

✅ CeMAP qualification (or equivalent)
✅ Strong communication and customer service skills
✅ High attention to detail and accuracy
✅ Good IT skills (Word, Excel)
✅ Able to manage your time effectively
✅ Team player who can also work independently
Financial services experience is a plus but not essential

Please note that this position requires Saturday working as and when required.
