Trainee Electronics Production Technician - No Experience Necessary | Full Training Provided | Apprenticeship Available

We’re looking for a Trainee Electronics Production Technician to join our electronics manufacturing team.
You don't need previous electronics experience. In fact, we're more interested in your natural ability and attitude than what's already on your CV.
If you're a fast learner, good with your hands and someone who notices the little details, we'll teach you the rest.
What will you learn?
We want to teach you electronics manufacturing from the ground up, including:
- Hand soldering electronic components
- Building and assembling printed circuit boards (PCBs)
- Operating SMT manufacturing machinery
- Setting up electronic component placement machines
- Operating AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) equipment
- Inspecting electronic assemblies
- Identifying components and manufacturing defects
- Using specialist production tools and equipment
- Basic electronic testing
- Reading drawings and manufacturing instructions
- Quality control
- How an electronic product goes from a bare PCB and components to a finished, tested product
As you develop, you'll be given the opportunity to take on more technical and challenging work.

You're a fast learner
There's plenty to learn, so we're looking for someone who picks up new skills quickly, asks questions and genuinely wants to understand how things work.
You notice the little things
Electronics manufacturing is all about detail. A component can be tiny and a small mistake can make the difference between a product working and not working.
How's your handwriting?
Seriously!
If you've got neat, controlled handwriting, there's a good chance you've also got the patience, coordination and fine motor control that can help make someone a great solderer.
You'll be working with small components, so steady hands and good hand-eye coordination are important.
You can concentrate
Some jobs require patience and focus. We're looking for someone who takes pride in getting things right, not just getting them done quickly.
You like practical things
Maybe you enjoy building things, fixing things, technology, engineering, Lego, PCs, cars, model making or anything else that involves understanding how things go together.
You don't have to be an electronics geek — you just need that practical curiosity.
You've got the right attitude
We don't expect a trainee to know everything.
We do expect you to listen, ask questions, take feedback onboard, learn from mistakes and want to get better.
What qualifications do you need?
We're deliberately keeping this open.
Previous electronics or manufacturing experience is not required.
We're more interested in finding someone with the right aptitude, attitude and potential.
This could be ideal if you're:
- Leaving school or college and looking for your first proper career
- Interested in engineering or technology but don't know where to start
- Working in another industry and looking for a career change
- Naturally practical and looking for a job where you can develop technical skills
Optional Apprenticeship
If you'd like to gain a recognised qualification while you're working, there may also be the opportunity to complete an engineering/electronics apprenticeship alongside the role.
The apprenticeship is optional — you don't have to take this route to apply.
Where could it lead?
We're not looking for someone to spend the next five years doing exactly the same thing.
We're looking for someone we can develop.

Advanced Soldering / SMT Machine Operation / AOI / Testing / Fault Finding / Quality Production Engineering
Your progression will depend on your ability, interests and how quickly you develop.
