We're looking for an experienced counterbalance forklift driver to join our yard and despatch team, with an immediate start available.

APS Packaging is a family-run manufacturer based in Bideford, founded in 2000 and now one of the South West's leading packaging companies. From our 300,000 sq ft site we make wooden pallets, crates and export packaging for customers across the UK, with our own delivery fleet and around 70 staff. Our forklift fleet is modern and all-electric - clean machines, well maintained, checked daily.
About the role
You'll be at the heart of the yard - unloading incoming timber, feeding production, loading our lorries and customer collections, and keeping stock and the yard organised. It's a busy, varied outdoor role where accuracy and safe stacking matter, and you'll work closely with production and our drivers to keep everything moving on time.

What you'll do
- Load and unload lorries and customer collections safely
- Unload and put away incoming timber deliveries
- Keep production supplied with materials through the day
- Keep the yard and storage areas organised and safe
- Complete daily forklift checks and report any faults
- Help out in production when the yard is quiet
What you'll bring
- A valid counterbalance forklift licence with solid experience
- Confidence handling long and heavy timber loads safely
- A careful, safety-first attitude - pedestrians and vehicles share our yard
- Reliability and good timekeeping - the yard sets the pace for everyone else
- Sideloader or Combilift experience is a bonus, not a requirement
Hours and location
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, at APS Packaging, Chubb Road, Bideford, Devon EX39 4HE. Immediate start available.
Pay: Up to £15.00 per hour
