MET Technician – Bodyshop
Bury St Edmunds - IP33 1XP
Competitive Basic Salary with an uncapped OTE
Monday to Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm with one-hour lunch break.

About the Role

As an experienced MET Technician in our small Bodyshop team, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality mechanical, electrical, and trim repairs on accident-damaged vehicles. This includes the stripping and refitting of vehicle components to manufacturer standards and ensuring vehicles are returned to customers in a safe, roadworthy condition.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong technical background who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a fast-paced, professional team.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately strip and refit mechanical and electrical components on damaged vehicles
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to manufacturer standards
Work closely with estimators, panel beaters, and painters to ensure smooth repair processes
Use diagnostic equipment to identify electrical faults and ensure full functionality
Ensure all repairs are completed within agreed timescales and meet quality control standards
Follow all health and safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Update job cards and repair logs accurately using Bodyshop management systems

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience as an MET Technician or in a similar role within a Bodyshop environment
ATA accreditation or NVQ Level 3 in Automotive Mechanical/Electrical Repair (desirable but not essential)
Strong knowledge of modern vehicle electrical systems and mechanical components
High attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs
Excellent communication and team-working skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced Bodyshop setting
Full UK driving licence – Held for a minimum of 2 years
