We have an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Assurance professional to play a key role in ensuring our global supply chain meets the highest standards of quality, compliance and performance. Working across an international supplier network, you will help deliver our strategic objectives by driving supplier assurance activities, supporting continuous improvement and maintaining robust supplier approval and surveillance processes.
Your impact
As part of our Global Supplier Quality Assurance function, you will work closely with Procurement, Quality, Certification and Airworthiness teams to assess, approve and monitor suppliers in line with industry best practice and regulatory requirements. Through supplier audits, vendor management and stakeholder support, you will help ensure our supply chain continues to deliver safe, reliable and compliant products.
Planning, coordinating and delivering a global supplier audit programme, including reporting on audit outcomes and performance.

Assessing supplier quality management systems, approving new suppliers and maintaining the approved supplier database in collaboration with Procurement.

Supporting Airworthiness Authorities during audits of the Leonardo Helicopters supply chain.

Working with Certification and Quality Managers to define and deliver supplier audit requirements.

Providing expert guidance to internal stakeholders on supplier quality matters.

Contributing to the continuous improvement of Supplier Quality Assurance policies, procedures and standards, including QRS-01.

What you will do as a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer
- Assist SQA in providing a new supplier approval service which supports the delivery of quality product from suppliers to acceptable timescales.
- Assist SQA in the management of Corrective Action Requests. Ensure actions are closed within the agreed timescales.
- Maintain and secure a global LH list of approved suppliers and their scopes of approval.
- Provide guidance to LH Procurement and Engineering plus external suppliers regarding Supplier Quality matters to assure or improve conformance to LH Quality Standards and, where necessary, formal correspondence regarding quality requirements for suppliers.
- Represent SQA at meetings and reviews, as requested by your Manager.
- Review and approve supplier Quality Plans against LH requirements.
- Liaise with other LH Supplier Quality Assurance geographies on common suppliers and control procedures.
- Help to develop new and existing tools and techniques within the team to improve the team and individual performance.
- Carry out all work in accordance with the Company Operating System and relevant Regulatory, Legislative and Contractual requirements.
What you’ll bring
- Educated to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject and have significant relevant experience in either Aeronautical, Avionics, Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Special Process or Manufacturing disciplines.
- Lead Assessor potential with practical experience of ISO 9001 and EN/AS9100. (Training can be given.)
- Sound knowledge of Regulatory standards such as EASA Part 21G and FAA FAR21. A good knowledge of EASA PART21J and EASA/FAA Part 145 is a plus. (Training can be given.)
- Knowledge of Quality fundamentals, tools and techniques.
- Sound interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Strong ability for interpretation of information against a requirement.
- Available to travel for short/medium periods within and outside UK.
