Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and responsible HGV Class 1 Driver Crane Operator to join our team. This role involves operating flatbed lorries equipped with cranes to facilitate the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all deliveries are completed on time while adhering to health and safety regulations. A strong background in commercial driving, delivery experience, and crane operation is essential for this position.
Duties
- Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a crane lorry.
- Transport goods and materials to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Load and unload stores and accommodation units, ensuring proper securing and handling of items.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or damages.
- Requirements:
- Knowledge of mechanical operations and basic vehicle maintenance.- Ability to drive manual gearboxes.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and customers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles and crane operation.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices and crane handling techniques.
- Ability to operate flatbed lorries equipped with cranes confidently and safely.
- Good organisational skills with an organised approach to route planning and load securing.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to heavy vehicle operation and lifting equipment.
- Physically fit, capable of manual handling tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo.
