Daviot Care Home, Inverness
Daviot Care Home has a special place in Meallmore’s story. It was here, just south of Inverness, that our journey began in 1987 with one care home, one family and a belief that people deserved excellent care in a place that truly felt like home.
Today, Daviot is one of our largest and most established homes, providing high-quality nursing care alongside specialist support for residents living with dementia and mental health conditions.
As part of Meallmore, our purpose is to be Scotland’s most trusted care provider by creating great places to live and work. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Registered Home Manager who can provide strong, visible leadership and help shape the next chapter of this important home.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to lead a large care home with a proud history, an established team and strong connections to the Highland community.
As Registered Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the quality, safety and operational performance of the home. You will set a clear direction, support and develop your leadership team and create a culture where residents receive excellent care and colleagues feel valued, confident and proud of the work they do.
Working closely with the Regional Operations Manager and wider Meallmore support teams, you will balance outstanding care, effective governance, colleague engagement and sustainable business performance.
Your Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing visible and compassionate leadership across the home
- Ensuring residents receive safe, respectful and person-centred care that reflects their individual needs, choices and aspirations
- Maintaining strong standards of governance, quality assurance and regulatory compliance
- Leading continuous improvement and responding positively to feedback, audits and Care Inspectorate findings
- Developing a positive culture where colleagues feel supported, listened to and accountable for the quality of their work
- Leading, supporting and developing the home’s nursing, care and support teams
- Ensuring effective workforce planning, recruitment, retention, supervision and performance management
- Building trusted relationships with residents, relatives, colleagues and external health and social care professionals
- Taking ownership of the home’s operational performance, including budgets, occupancy, workforce costs and the effective use of resources
- Ensuring the home remains welcoming, well maintained and connected to the local community

At Meallmore, our CARE values guide how we work every day:
- We Create environments of kindness where everyone feels welcome
- We Act with accountability in our roles
- We Recognise the contribution of our colleagues
- We Engage in learning and improvement to continuously grow
As Home Manager, you will bring these values to life through your leadership. You will be approachable, consistent and present within the home, setting clear expectations while creating an environment where people feel able to speak up, learn and contribute.
You will understand that a successful home is built through strong relationships, clear standards and a shared commitment to doing the right thing for residents.
About You
You will be a registered nurse with an active NMC registration and experience leading within a nursing or care home environment.
You will also demonstrate:
- Proven experience managing a medium or large nursing home, or a similarly complex care service
- Strong knowledge of the Health and Social Care Standards and the Scottish regulatory environment
- A successful record of maintaining or improving care quality and regulatory outcomes
- The ability to lead, inspire and develop multidisciplinary teams
- Confidence in managing governance, safeguarding, clinical risk and quality assurance
- Experience of workforce planning, recruitment, colleague development and performance management
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how quality care, occupancy and financial performance work together
- The ability to build positive and professional relationships with residents, relatives and external stakeholders
- A calm, resilient and solutions-focused approach to leadership
- A genuine commitment to continuous learning and improvement
You will be someone who is comfortable taking responsibility, making decisions and setting clear standards, while remaining compassionate and connected to the people who live and work within the home.
