Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Flooring Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of flooring surfaces in residential and commercial settings. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with flooring experience and a keen eye for detail to contribute to high-quality projects. The ideal applicant will have a strong understanding of all flooring practices, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work alone or as part of a team. A commitment to safety, organisation, and craftsmanship is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

Measure and prepare areas for flooring installation, ensuring precise alignment and fitment
Remove existing flooring materials safely and efficiently
Install various types of flooring including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, or carpet according to project specifications
Use hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers to cut, shape, and secure materials
Operate power tools including saws, drills, and sanders with safety awareness
Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, or instructions to ensure accurate installation
Perform carpentry tasks related to subfloor preparation or repairs as needed
Maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to health and safety regulations
Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget

Experience

Previous experience in flooring installation is highly desirable
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic carpentry techniques
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
Valid UK driving licence is beneficial but not essential
