Suffolk County Council
Address: Endeavour House, Ipswich, IP1 2BX, On-site working
Salary: £28,598 per annum pro rata
Hours: 22.2, three days per week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday)
Contract: Permanent

This is a great opportunity to support local democracy at Suffolk County Council as a Senior Administrator in Democratic Services, working alongside politicians and officers across all departments, as well as providing advice and information to the public. Your role and responsibilities

Acting as the first point of contact for councillors, members of the public and staff through the councillor service helpdesk
Managing multiple inboxes covering a broad range of queries and issues
Running budget reports using Oracle Fusion and reconciling spend
Administering Councillor Locality Budget Grants
Processing Councillor Expense claims
Maintaining the democracy and governance pages on the Council’s website
Updating the democratic information on the Council’s Intranet for staff and councillors
Handling and recording petitions using an established procedure

You will need:

an ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing and supporting workloads as required
excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail
an understanding of the distinct roles of councillors and officers
confidence using Microsoft Office applications and editing webpages (training will be provided)
commitment to delivering high standards of customer service
knowledge of local government and political awareness is desirable.

The Democratic Services Team provides a range of administrational support services to Councillors, officers, and members of the public. We are a small, friendly and supportive team that comprises of range of roles all of which support the governance of the Council.
