Job Overview
Following a period of growth, we are seeking an employed or subcontract experienced floor layer to join our established and happy team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of flooring in residential and commercial settings.
In particular we are interested in fitters who can fit some if not all of the following floorcoverings:
- Carpet/Carpet tiles
- Safety flooring
- Vinyls
- LVT
- Cap and Cove
- Wood/Laminates
- Stair nosings
This role requires a strong understanding of technical principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Be a great ambassador for our family business
- Understand the high levels of behaviour required when on site and in client's homes
- Prepare subfloor surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and repairing as necessary to ensure proper adhesion of flooring materials
- Install various types of flooring including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, carpet, and tiles in accordance with schematics and project specifications
- Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and construction painters to complete projects on time
Experience
- Proven experience in construction or flooring installation is essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions and schematics
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various environmental conditions
We are willing to offer sub-contract terms or permanent positions at highly competitive rates.
