Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Guillotine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining guillotine cutting machines to ensure precise and efficient processing of materials. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, safety procedures, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in warehouse operations, to develop their skills within a dynamic organisation.
Responsibilities
- Operate the guillotine cutting machine safely and efficiently, ensuring accurate cuts according to specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the machine to prevent malfunctions.
- Use hand tools and power tools for adjustments, repairs, and set-up tasks.
- Assist with material handling, including bulky, heavy lifting and moving of sheets.
- Follow safety protocols at all times, recognising potential hazards around machinery and work areas.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and productivity.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Document operational data and report any issues or irregularities to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with mechanical systems, and warehouse operations is desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for assembly or repair tasks.
- Knowledge of print background
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Experience with assembly processes or working in manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality assurance.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Prior experience operating machinery such as guillotines or similar equipment is highly beneficial.
Pay: £26,436.00-£27,352.00 per year
