Full job description

Rapid Dispatch is looking for a bright, confident person to join our team and help deliver safe, efficient, and compliant transport plans across our operations. You’ll be responsible for answering the phone to both drivers and customers, relaying information to the planning team and supporting the plan over the working day.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and looking to work in a dynamic environment. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our delivery and collection services.

Key Responsibilities:

Allocate vehicles and drivers efficiently for both deliveries and collections, factoring in vehicle capacity, time windows, and legal compliance
Monitor live operations and respond quickly to disruptions (delays, breakdowns, changes in demand)
Liaise with drivers and customers to ensure a smooth execution of the plan
Maintain accurate planning data, paperwork, and system records
Support continuous improvement projects to reduce costs and improve service
Speaking with drivers daily.
Working with our customers to provide the best service

Requirements:

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Comfortable using planning software and proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other administrative tools.
Ability to work well in a team and independently.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
