Who Are We?
We are an established painting and decorating contractor working with some of the UK’s largest house builders and commercial fit-out companies. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Site Painter & Decorator to join our team on our project in Milton Keynes, with further sites starting as this project reaches its final stages.
The Role
- Site-based role at our Milton Keynes project (no remote work).
- Working on new build housing and commercial fit-out projects for major national clients.
- Self-employed basis – you must be set up to work as a subcontractor (e.g. CIS / UTR).
- Work will run for the remainder of the current project, with opportunities to move onto new sites as they begin.
- You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of finish in occupied and unoccupied properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces: filling, sanding, caulking, priming and making good to a high standard.
- Apply paints, emulsions, gloss, undercoats and specialist finishes as specified.
- Hang wall coverings where required (an advantage, not essential).
- Work to site drawings, specifications and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area in line with H&S and site rules.
- Liaise professionally with site managers, supervisors and other trades.
- Accurately record and report progress on your areas/plots.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator on UK construction sites.
- Own tools and brushes suitable for professional site work.
- Ability to travel to Milton Keynes daily and to future sites as needed.
- Valid CSCS card (preferred/usually required for main contractor sites).
- Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering a quality finish.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team.
- Right to work in the UK and appropriate self-employed status (CIS/UTR, etc.).
- References or photos of previous work are highly desirable.
