We are seeking an exceptional First Team Set Piece Analyst to join our Performance Analysis department. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated analyst with a passion for football performance, tactical innovation and elite-level competition.
Reporting to the Lead Performance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing attacking and defensive set-piece performance through detailed analysis, evidence-based insights and innovative approaches. Working closely with First Team coaches, players and multidisciplinary staff, you will help maximise one of the most influential areas of modern football.
The Role
As the First Team Set Piece Analyst, you will lead the analysis of attacking and defensive set pieces, providing high-quality insights that support match preparation, in-game decision-making and post-match reviews.
You will combine video analysis, performance data and tactical expertise to identify opportunities, evaluate effectiveness and drive continuous improvement across all set-piece phases.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis of attacking and defensive set pieces, delivering actionable insights to First Team coaches and players.
- Produce detailed pre-match opposition reports, identifying tactical trends, recurring routines, strengths, weaknesses and exploitable opportunities.
- Deliver post-match reviews using video, data and visual presentation tools to evaluate team performance and support continuous improvement.
- Monitor and benchmark set-piece performance against internal targets and league standards, identifying trends and areas for development.
- Research emerging trends, tactical innovations and global best practice in set-piece strategy.
- Develop high-quality analytical resources including reports, presentations, dashboards, infographics and video content.
- Collaborate with the Data & Insights department to integrate performance data into analysis workflows and enhance decision-making processes.
- Maintain and develop video, data and analytical resource libraries, ensuring information is organised, secure and accessible.
- Support innovation within the Performance Analysis department through the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
- Stay informed of developments within football performance analysis, data analytics and set-piece strategy.
About You
You will be a highly organised and detail-oriented performance analyst with experience working in a professional football environment. You will possess excellent tactical knowledge, strong communication skills and the ability to turn complex information into clear, impactful recommendations.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working within a professional football performance analysis environment.
- Proven experience using analysis and presentation software including Hudl Sportscode, Hudl Studio and Keynote.
- Strong tactical understanding of football, particularly within the attacking and defensive set-piece phases.
- Ability to communicate technical and tactical information effectively to coaches and players.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Performance Analysis, Sport Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working as a specialist Set Piece Analyst within an elite or professional football environment.
- Experience providing live match analysis and operating live video workflows in a stadium setting.
- Experience integrating performance data and video analysis to support coaching practice.
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc) in Performance Analysis, Sport Science or a related discipline.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
