Role Brief
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Payroll Clerk to join our small finance team in Greenfield, Oldham.
Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, you must have experience within payroll, preferably within a manufacturing environment with shift working and overtime variables.
The successful candidate will have the ability to plan and prioritise their workload to meet the needs of the business. The candidate should be flexible and organised with the ability to communicate at all levels and assist with future projects.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the outsourced payroll provider to resolve any queries and ensure weekly and monthly payrolls are completed on time.
- Be the first point of contact for all payroll queries.
- Liaise with Management to resolve any payroll / timesheet issues whilst working to strict deadlines.
- Analysis of Weekly and monthly timesheets to calculate overtime hours, etc.
- Provide the outsourced team with all relevant documentation needed to complete the payrolls
- Work on continuous improvement to the system to streamline the process.
- Ensure that all correspondence and documentation are issued promptly, as well as ensuring accurate maintenance of data within payroll systems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation.
Competencies and Role Requirements.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a generalist payroll role
- Great communication skills
- Strong IT skills, including Excel
- High attention to detail
- Exposure to time and attendance systems.
- Team player, must be flexible to assist the finance team where required.
- Understanding of payroll legislation, including reporting RTI and Auto Enrolment.
- Flexibility to work additional hours to meet payroll targets.
Hours
16 Hours per week Monday & Tuesday with additional flexibility required to meet targets
