An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Scottish Ambulance Service Education and Professional Development Department (EPDD) as a Manual Handling and PMVA Trainer.
These posts will support delivery of Manual Handling (MH) and Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) training across the Service, helping to ensure that patient-facing staff have the knowledge, skills and confidence required to work safely and effectively in a wide range of situations. The roles will make an important contribution to staff safety, patient care and the delivery of high-quality education across the organisation.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals with relevant experience in delivering Manual Handling and/or PMVA training, ideally within a healthcare, ambulance, emergency service or similarly complex operational environment. Experience of working with adult learners in practical training settings would be advantageous, alongside the ability to adapt delivery to meet the needs of different learner groups and manage group dynamics effectively.
The successful candidates will be confident communicators, able to engage learners positively and support safe, effective learning in both classroom and applied practical environments. As these roles involve delivery of physically practical training, candidates should be able to support learners safely and confidently throughout the training process.
The posts will be based within established education locations across the East and West Regions, with 3 posts in the East Region and 2 posts in the West Region. Travel across Scotland will be required to support service delivery, staff development activity and Learning in Practice (LiP) delivery in local education centres and station-based settings. Applicants should therefore be able to travel regularly in line with service need, and be aware that there may be some requirement for overnight stays .
