- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising to ensure healthy growth and visual appeal.
- Operate various power tools such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and edgers safely and efficiently.
- Use hand tools for planting, trimming, digging, and other landscaping activities.
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and system functionality.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators for larger construction or landscaping projects.
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with construction activities related to landscape design or installation projects.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timeframes while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, irrigation systems, and construction equipment such as excavators.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Previous construction experience is advantageous.
- Good understanding of plant care, horticultural practices, and garden design principles.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery including excavators is preferred but not essential.
- Physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour including lifting heavy loads and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high-quality workmanship.
- A valid PERSON (or equivalent) licence is required for operating certain machinery or vehicles on site.
