ABOUT THE ROLE
Fenton’s Electrical Audio & Visual Ltd is looking for a qualified electrician to join our growing team.
We are an NICEIC Approved Contractor carrying out a varied mix of domestic and commercial electrical work across Barrow-in-Furness, Ulverston, Kendal and the surrounding areas.
Due to a strong and increasing workload, we are looking for a reliable and experienced electrician who can work independently, take responsibility for their own jobs and maintain a high standard of workmanship and customer service.
This is a varied role with work across different sites and customers. It would suit someone looking for a long-term position within a small but growing local electrical business.
There is no routine working away from home, with the majority of our work based across South Cumbria and the surrounding area.
TYPICAL WORK WILL INCLUDE
- Domestic and commercial electrical installations
- Consumer unit replacements
- Electrical Installation Condition Reports
- Testing, inspection and certification
- Fault finding and remedial works
- Refurbishment and extension projects
- Fire alarm and emergency lighting work
- EV charger and renewable energy installations
- Small works, maintenance and call-outs
- Working alongside and supporting other electricians and apprentices
The successful applicant will be trusted to attend jobs independently, communicate professionally with customers and provide clear updates regarding progress, materials and any additional work identified.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Recognised Level 3 electrical installation qualification or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 and AM2, or equivalent evidence of occupational competence
- Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- ECS Gold Card, or eligible to obtain one
- Good working knowledge of BS 7671
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Able to complete work independently and manage individual jobs
- Reliable, organised and professional
- Good communication skills
- High standard of workmanship
- Able to provide suitable evidence of qualifications and experience
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- City & Guilds 2391, 2394/2395 or equivalent Inspection and Testing qualification
- Experience completing EICRs and remedial works
- Domestic and commercial installation experience
- Experience supporting or supervising apprentices
- EV charging installation experience
- Solar PV or renewable energy experience
- Fire alarm and emergency lighting experience
- Experience using electronic job-management and certification systems
Inspection and Testing qualifications are desirable but are not essential for the right applicant with strong installation experience and a willingness to undertake further training.
