We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Project Engineering Team based at the Crewe site.
Role Overview
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects such as pump, skids, or modular units. You’ll serve as the key link between clients, supply chain and production, ensuring every project meets specifications, deadlines, and budget requirements; whilst using your experiences to guide and co-ordinate other members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Co-ordinate, support, mentor and offer professional development of project team members. Act as delegate for the R&D Manager during periods of absence.
- Project Planning: Review project documentation, develop production schedules, and define key milestones.
- Kickoff & Coordination: Lead kickoff meetings with production and procurement to ensure material readiness.
- Project Monitoring: Oversee progress managing priorities and adapting schedules as needed.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all deliverables meet contractual obligations and company quality standards.
- Financial Oversight: Track project costs and review against the budgeted costs.
- Client Communication: Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding project status and requirements.
- Technical collaboration: Work closely with designers (and support as necessary) to create, review and validate technical drawings & documents for manufacturability.
- Logistics: Coordinate factory acceptance testing and final delivery logistics.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency with project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, advanced Excel).
- Ability to create, read and interpret mechanical drawings & technical documentation.
- Ability to create 3D CAD data (Siemens NX).
- Strong organizational skills—capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities for working with skilled trades, clients, and suppliers.
- Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, production management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing processes (SAP).
- Minimum of 5 years’ project management experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
