Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, primarily using TIG welding techniques, to produce high-quality products in accordance with technical specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in sheet metal fabrication. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Perform TIG welding on various metals, including sheet metal, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards
Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide fabrication processes
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with equipment or components during production
Conduct quality checks on welded and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with standards
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or subassemblies as required

Experience

Proven experience in TIG welding, particularly <LOCATION> welding techniques
Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Knowledge of sheet metal work and basic assembly processes
Mechanical aptitude with understanding of technical drawings and basic maths for measurements and calculations
Familiarity with the use of welding safety procedures and protective gear
Previous experience working in a manufacturing or workshop environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
