Job title: Senior Residential Support Worker
Service: Ofsted Regulated Residential Children’s Home, Regulated for the care of EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) and / or LD (Learning Disability) children – 3 bedroomed children’s home.
Salary: £39,168 – £42,720 per annum (including sleep-ins)
Basic Salary: £32,448-£34,320 per annum (based on 40 hours per week, dependent on experience and progression)
Sleep-in Payments:
£70 per sleep (8-hour sleep-in)
Total Estimated Earnings:
£39,168 – £42,720 per annum, depending on experience and number of sleep-ins worked
Hours: 40 hours per week (minimum), worked on a rota basis including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
As a 24/7 service, flexibility is required, with rotas planned in advance.
Sleep-ins are a regular and essential part of the rota, with staff typically completing 8–10 per month (£70 per sleep), contributing to overall earnings.
Annual leave: 30 days + Birthday paid off

The role: As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you will play a key role in both supporting children and leading shifts within the home.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will also take on additional responsibilities to support the running of the home and development of the team.
One day you could be:
- Supporting a young person through a challenging situation
- Leading a shift and guiding the team
- Supporting less experienced staff members
- Attending or contributing to meetings and care planning
- Taking part in activities, routines, and day-to-day care
You will:
- Lead shifts and ensure the home runs smoothly in the absence of management
- Support, guide, and role model for Residential Care Workers
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children
- Promote emotional wellbeing, independence, and resilience
- Safeguard and protect children at all times
- Contribute to care planning and risk assessments
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting

Essential Requirements:
- A full UK driving licence (essential)
- Applicants must be aged 21 or over

- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Experience working with children and young people (preferably in a residential setting)
- Ability to lead shifts and support a team
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
