We are a small but thriving rural dispensing practice, set in the beautiful South Hams, and we are passionate about delivering high-quality care to our community. This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking practice that is continuously evolving to meet the needs of our patients.

We are seeking a friendly and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis (23 hours per week).

The role will be worked across Monday mornings (8:00am–1:00pm) and Thursdays and Fridays. Working hours will generally fall between 8:30am and 6:30pm, although one shift each week will include a later finish at 8:00pm.

This is a busy and varied front-line role at the heart of the practice, where no two days are the same. You will be the first point of contact for patients, both face-to-face and over the phone, playing a key role in ensuring they receive the support and care they need.

This role would suit someone who:

· Enjoys working as part of a team

· Has a positive, can-do attitude

· Takes pride in delivering excellent patient service

· Has strong communication and organisational skills

· Is confident speaking with patients both face-to-face and over the phone

· Is able to remain calm and professional in a busy environment

· Can manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively

Previous experience in general practice or a patient-facing/customer service role is desirable, but not essential, as full support and training will be provided for the right candidate.

Flexibility is essential, as you will be required to provide cover for colleagues’ annual leave and sickness to support the smooth running of the service.
