About the role

The Head of Digital is responsible for leading Bestway Wholesale's digital strategy, customer data capability and digital transformation, creating the technology, insight and customer experience that will underpin the future growth of the business

The role will work in partnership with the Marketing Controller to ensure digital capability supports the wider marketing strategy, whilst providing strategic leadership to the Digital & E-Commerce Manager and future Digital & Data teams.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for identifying future opportunities in AI, automation, personalisation and digital innovation, ensuring Bestway remains the market leader in wholesale digital commerce.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will establish a data-driven culture across Marketing, creating actionable insight that improves digital performance, supports supplier investment and delivers measurable revenue growth.

A key part of the role is transforming how Bestway uses customer and trading data to make faster, smarter commercial decisions.

Digital Strategy

Develop and own Bestway's long-term Digital Strategy aligned to business growth ambitions. Define and deliver the digital roadmap across websites, apps and future digital platforms.

Commercial Leadership

Lead the commercial performance of transactional B2B websites, digital channel and product performance

Customer Journey & Experience

Own the end-to-end customer experience across every digital touchpoint. Customer lifecycle strategy, Website UX, Mobile App UX

Data & Insight

Lead Bestway's digital data strategy. Transform data into actionable commercial insight that drives measurable sales growth. Work closely with the central data and analytics teams to ensure digital insight supports wider business decision making.

Performance Optimisation

Develop a culture of continual testing and optimisation. Create measurable improvements through continuous optimisation.

Digital Innovation & Marketing Technology (MarTech)

Lead the evaluation and implementation of new digital capability including AI. Remain ahead of market trends and competitor capability.

Digital Product Development

Work closely with IT and Product teams to prioritise digital developments. Own the marketing digital development roadmap and digital prioritisation framework.

Leadership

Develop future Digital, Data and Analytics capability across Marketing. Provide strategic direction to the wider digital team. Create a high-performing culture built around continuous improvement, innovation and commercial delivery.

Coach and develop future digital capability within the department.

Cross Functional Leadership

Build strong stakeholder relationships business wide

Financial Responsibility

Responsible for all aspects of the digital marketing budget, including supplier digital income.

What we are looking for

Demonstrable experience in Digital Commerce, Ecommerce or Digital Marketing leadership.

Experience managing large-scale transactional websites.

Strong commercial understanding of B2B ecommerce.

Proven experience delivering digital sales growth.

Strong understanding of customer journey mapping.

Experience managing digital agencies and technology partners.

Experience within wholesale, retail or FMCG.

Implementation of AI and automation solutions.

Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms.

Development of supplier-funded digital media opportunities.
