PART TIME – ELITE ACADEMY COACH

ELITE ACADEMY (U8 - U11)

Job Description | Person Specification

Position: Academy Coach – Academy (U8 – U11)

Reporting to: Head of Academy Coaching

Overall Objective: To ensure that all Football Delivery at the Elite Academy follows the Macclesfield Football Club (MFC) Philosophy and Syllabus

Main Objectives

· To plan and deliver football sessions across the Academy pathway

· To deliver all aspects of Coaching at the designated MFC department in line with the club Philosophy and syllabus.

· To ensure that the Academy Coaching Programme is delivered consistently throughout all phases within the academy, in line with the Coaching and Playing philosophy.

· To ensure that all the ‘Individual Learning Plans’ are completed and consistently updated at MFC in order to provide a clear pathway of development for all within the Academy system.

- To ensure the delivery of the methodology is relevant and suitable to the ‘Phases’

· To support and deliver with the operations of the Macclesfield FC academy Fixtures programme where necessary.

Summary of Duties

· Create and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.

· Monitor and support the transition of players between the development phase/s / age groups.

· To liaise with the Heads of departments on all matters, including managing relationships with external partners (e.g. parents / coaches / sponsor).

· To work in line with the Philosophy of MFC including the ‘aims and vision’ of MFC.

· To ensure that all Coaches at the MFC academy programme understand and deliver each session as per the MFC syllabus.

· To work closely with the MFC Head of Coaching in regard to the Coaching syllabus and programme.

· To be prepared to do other duties to further the development of MFC as and when required.

· To contribute effectively to the day-day operations.

· To attend and contribute to all relevant In-Service training.

· To attend all relevant staff meetings.

· To keep up to date with all MFC correspondence.

· To regularly engage upon CPD both MFC and individually sourced.

· To show clear evidence of planning and evaluating.

· To ensure that all the relevant administration is kept up to date.

· To provide transportation to and from fixtures or events as per the needs of MFC.

Essential

· FA Level 2 (UEFA C) Coaching in Football

· Flexible working hours required. Local, national and international travel where necessary.

· Must interconnect with all relevant MFC departments.

· Must have experience of using Microsoft word, Excel, PPT etc.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Have a flexible attitude to work.

· Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

· Have a polite and courteous manner.

· Be organised and have good time management skills.

· The ability to meet stringent deadlines.

· Be able to adapt to different and changing situations.

· Have the drive and enthusiasm to set high standards and achieve company objectives.

· Have a personable approach.

· Knowledge and understanding to company policies/procedures and regulations relating to your role.

· Ability to liaise with footballers, coaches, management and other football related individuals in a professional manner.

· Hold a current DBS certificate.

· Full clean driving licence.

· Be prepared to work evenings and weekends.

Desirable

· Hold a D1 driving licence.

· Previous experience of working within the football or related industry.

· FA Level 2 (UEFA C) Coaching in Football.

· Sports related degree/qualifications.

· The FA Learning Safeguarding Children Certificate.

· The FA Basic First Aid for Sport.
