Job Title: Night Shift General Warehouse Operative / Loader
Hours of Work:
- 40 hours per week
- Sunday – Thursday
- 9.00pm – 5.30am (with a 30-minute break)
Salary: £29,510 per annum
Bonuses: £2,500 per annum
Holidays: 25 Annual Days + 3 x Bank Holidays (New Year’s Day, Christmas Day & Boxing Day)
Description: As a General Warehouse Operative / Loader on the Night Shift, you will be responsible for ensuring the correct sequencing, consolidation, and secure loading of goods onto vehicles, maintaining efficiency and safety throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check and verify each delivery route, ensuring all items are correctly sequenced
- Merge and consolidate goods by category (eg. Fruit & Vegetables, Chemicals, Butchery, and Milk) into their respective routes
- Accurately pull-out cages from designated areas and assign them to the appropriate vehicles
- Safely and efficiently load vehicles using a counterbalance forklift truck
- Assist on the back of vehicles to ensure correct load distribution and secure all goods for transport in line with safety regulations
- Communicate with supervisors to resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment in the loading bay and warehouse areas
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols and company procedures
Essential Skills / Requirements:
- Current UK Driving Licence
- Valid Counterbalance FLT Licence
- Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Good understanding of vehicle loading procedures and load security
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Physically fit and able to lift/move cages and heavy items
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Need to be meticulous, driven and have good communication skills
