What you need to know about the role
As Site Logistics Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing weighbridge operations, site security, road transport and material handling activities at Redbourn, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant site operations. You will also be accountable for maintaining robust systems and controls to safeguard fuel provision and support operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Report and analyse all incidents in their area of responsibility and track actions to closure.
- Assist Department Management in incident investigation
- Agree and Maintain schedules and targets for Redbourn operations with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure internal road shunting, handling and loading out services are undertaken in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner in line with internal & external customer requirements and health & safety standards.
- Ensure Redbourn area is kept safe and tidy and any product is stored in an efficient and safe manner.
- Ensure that suitable management arrangements are made for projects within their area of responsibility (This may include the performance of design audits and construction site audits and inspections)
- Communicate the findings of incidents through notifications & red stripes to ensure sharing and learning across the company.
- Define, develop and implement standard working procedures and ensure compliance.
- Attend monthly Facilitator meetings to build relationships and ensure a consistent approach is adopted across the company
- To ensure Weigh Bridge maintenance is kept up to date, including a robust preventative cleaning strategy and strategic spare provision.
- Line Manage a variety of different individuals from weigh bridge operatives to shift operatives.
- To be the department point of contact for CCTV provision, across our site operations as well as at Weigh bridges, Locomotives, External Fleet, Santon and HRS.
- Ensure that we have robust security systems in place for the Security of our Diesel Fuel on site.
What we need to know about you
The position requires an effective organiser with strong influencing skills and a commitment to continual improvement.
- Significant experience in manufacturing and/or Transport environment.
- Ability to identify improvement opportunities through analysis of data.
- Good understanding of Internal Logistics Operations and systems.
- Effective interpersonal skills, person must be able to interface across all areas of the company.
- Good typing and word processing skills; good level of computer literacy.
- Effective team player.
- Calm under pressure and effective in meeting deadlines.
