Build confident cashflow, drive performance, and lead a team that keeps our customers moving.
At Vuba Surfaces, we’re looking for an Accounts Receivable Manager based in Hull to take ownership of our day-to-day debtor function, improve collection performance, and ensure our financial position stays strong as the business continues to grow. If you enjoy turning numbers into clarity, coaching people to hit targets, and creating processes that actually work in the real world—this could be your next step.
Accounts receivable is more than chasing payments. It’s about building trust and reliability across the customer journey—ensuring invoices are accurate, disputes are resolved promptly, and cash comes in on time. As the Accounts Receivable Manager, you’ll be responsible for keeping that system running smoothly while improving performance year on year.
You’ll combine strong financial control with a practical, customer-aware approach. You’ll help reduce aged debt, improve forecast accuracy, and create a function that is proactive, responsive, and measurable.
- Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including invoice processing, posting, credit control activities, and reconciliation of customer accounts.
- Lead and develop the accounts receivable team—setting clear objectives, coaching on best practice, and ensuring consistent service standards.
- Own cash collection performance by driving targets for DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), reducing overdue balances, and improving payment behaviours.
- Monitor and manage customer accounts, including credit reviews, account risk considerations, and proactive follow-up of non-payment.
- Resolve invoice queries and disputes quickly and fairly, working with internal stakeholders to correct issues at source and prevent repeat problems.
- Produce reporting and insights for senior leadership—aging schedules, cashflow forecasts, collection updates, and trend analysis.
- Improve processes and controls—documenting procedures, strengthening controls, and implementing efficiencies without compromising accuracy.
- Maintain clean customer account records, including accurate matching of payments, investigation of misallocations, and reconciliation.
- Partner across the business (e.g., sales, customer service, operations, and finance) to support the right commercial outcomes and keep customers informed.
You’ll bring solid experience in credit control and accounts receivable management, with the credibility to run the function and the empathy to handle sensitive customer conversations. You’ll be confident with both numbers and people—able to remain calm, persistent, and professional when timelines tighten and priorities shift.
- Proven experience in accounts receivable / credit control, with experience leading a team or managing key stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of invoice-to-cash processes and reconciliation practices.
- Excellent numeracy and attention to detail, with a practical approach to resolving issues.
- Strong communication skills—able to explain, negotiate and escalate appropriately.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver measurable improvements.
- Comfort using finance systems and reporting tools; advanced spreadsheet skills are highly beneficial.
- A proactive mindset: you don’t just manage what’s in front of you—you look ahead, spot patterns, and act.
This is a position for someone who enjoys ownership. You’ll be trusted to manage workloads, set standards, and drive improvements, with support from the wider finance team. We value people who can balance commercial reality with robust financial control—ensuring that collections are effective, fair, and aligned with our wider goals.
Based in Hull, you’ll be working within a business that’s fast-moving and ambitious, with a clear focus on quality and performance. This role gives you the chance to shape the way the accounts receivable function operates—so your impact is felt across the business.
