Duty Manager (Live-Out)

Full-Time | Approximately 40 hours per week

Windermere Boutique Hotel is an award-winning luxury 8-bedroom boutique hotel, renowned for its individually designed spa suites, private hot tubs and outstanding guest service. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and proactive Duty Manager to join our close-knit team and help maintain the high standards our guests expect.
The Role
As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the hotel, ensuring every aspect of the guest journey exceeds expectations. This is a varied, hands-on position where you’ll lead by example, supporting every department whenever required.
Key Responsibilities
● Oversee the smooth daily operation of the hotel.
● Welcome guests and manage check-in and check-out.
● Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve guest enquiries promptly and professionally.
● Support Reception, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and Kitchen operations as required.
● Lead, motivate and assist the team to maintain the highest standards throughout the hotel.
● Assist with staff scheduling and day-to-day supervision.
● Help prepare and cook breakfast and other food service when required (full training provided if necessary).
● Resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently while ensuring an outstanding guest experience.
● Ensure the hotel consistently meets our high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
● Has previous supervisory or management experience within hospitality.
● Is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.
● Has excellent written and spoken English.
● Is organised, adaptable and able to prioritise effectively.
● Remains calm under pressure and enjoys solving problems.
● Is confident working independently and as part of a small team.
● Is willing to assist in every department and learn new skills.
● Experience using Zonal or similar hotel booking software would be an advantage, although full training will be provided.
Working Hours
● Approximately 40 hours per week over five days.
● Straight shifts.
● Two consecutive days off each week ,although flexibility will be required during staff holidays).
● Christmas Day off.
● Two to three overnight sleepovers per week.
