Hillside Caravan Park is an award winning 9 acre park situated outside the village of Knayton, near Thirsk and Northallerton, North Yorkshire. Our family run site offers luxury facilities combined with stunning views of the surrounding countryside in a quiet and peaceful setting. We have excellent access to the North York Moor National Park, the East Yorkshire coast, many old market towns and the city of York, all from our idyllic location in the heart of Herriot country. The park caters for touring caravans & motorhomes, offers 'Glamping' in our luxury camping pods and we also have a cosy holiday cottage and luxury owner occupied lodges.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual(s) to join us as a Park Warden to work with the Mangers, grounds team, cleaning team and other Park Wardens.
The role will vary from day to day & cover a wide range of duties including:-
- General park maintenance
- Housekeeping of toilet/shower & amenity block
- Groundworks–mowing, strimming, tending to shrubs
- Moving and siting caravans
- Looking after the bin stores & recycling
- Basic DIY
- Checking in/escorting holiday makers to their pitch
- Using our computerised booking system
- Answering telephones and handling e-mail enquiries
- Cleaning of camping pods and holiday cottage
- Dealing with late check-ins (after 6pm) & drop in campers
- Supporting the admin team
- General tidy-ups to maintain the campsites high standards
- Smooth turnaround of glamping pods for bookings
- Any other tasks management deemed necessary
Initial & ongoing training is provided in all aspects of the work as well as the safe usage of all equipment.
The ideal candidate will have:-
- Caravanning/motorhome knowledge
- Ability to work unsupervised & on own initiative
- Reliable, enthusiastic, flexible & physically able
- Trustworthy–good track record of working with cash
- Good communication skills
- Excellent customer service
- Basic computer skills an advantage
- A “Can do” attitude
- The ability to deal with issues as they arise
- The ability to work as part of a team
- A clean driving license
We are looking for a part-time or full time warden. The position requires some working weekends, & on-call covering evenings/nights & bank holidays. Accommodation can be provided if required or a caravan pitch (including electric hook up point) can be provided if required. Employment runs from 4 February 2027 to 4 January 2028.
