Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista Café Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and food service, along with strong organisational skills to ensure smooth daily operations. Previous experience in a café setting is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality industry while working in a dynamic environment.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring quality standards are met.
Assist customers with their orders in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional customer service.
Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as required.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including cleaning equipment and work surfaces regularly.
Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times, following health regulations diligently.
Manage cash register operations accurately, including handling payments and giving correct change.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure the café is fully equipped during operating hours.
Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a barista or in food service is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is advantageous.
Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Ability to prepare food items efficiently while maintaining high hygiene standards.
Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods.
Excellent organisational skills to keep the workspace tidy and well-stocked.
Friendly attitude with good communication skills and a positive approach to teamwork.
