Anco Distributors Ltd is a successful and growing supplier of natural dog treats to pet retailers throughout the UK.
We are looking for an experienced and capable Warehouse Picker/Packer & Fulfilment Team Leader to help lead the day-to-day operation of our warehouse fulfilment team.
This is a hands-on working position. You will pick and pack orders alongside the team while also organising the daily workload, monitoring performance and ensuring customer orders are completed accurately and dispatched on time.
THE ROLE
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Working alongside the team to pick, check and pack customer orders
- Organising the daily picking and packing workload
- Allocating work according to order priorities and dispatch deadlines
- Keeping the team focused and maintaining a productive working pace
- Monitoring daily picking, packing and accuracy targets
- Identifying delays or problems and taking action before they affect dispatch
- Checking completed orders and maintaining high accuracy standards
- Training and supporting new and existing team members
- Ensuring warehouse procedures are followed consistently
- Addressing performance or conduct issues promptly and professionally
- Reporting staffing, stock, system or operational problems to management
- Helping investigate picking errors, shortages and customer order discrepancies
- Maintaining good housekeeping and health and safety standards
- Providing a clear handover and summary of the day’s performance
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous warehouse picking and packing experience
- Has experience leading, supervising or coordinating a warehouse or fulfilment team
- Is comfortable setting expectations and holding people accountable
- Can organise people and workload in a busy environment
- Understands the importance of productivity, accuracy and dispatch deadlines
- Is confident using warehouse systems, scanners and basic performance information
- Communicates clearly and deals with problems calmly
- Leads by example and is willing to work alongside the team
- Is dependable, organised and consistent
- Can make sensible day-to-day decisions without needing constant supervision
This position would suit an experienced warehouse operative or team leader who enjoys being actively involved in the work. It is not a desk-based management role.
