We are seeking a friendly and efficient Shop Assistant/Cashier to join our retail team. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
- Operate the cash register efficiently, handling cash, card payments, and refunds
- Provide information about products and promote relevant items through upselling techniques
- Maintain organised merchandising displays to enhance store presentation
- Answer customer enquiries via phone with professional etiquette
- Manage stock levels, restock shelves, and ensure the store remains tidy and welcoming
- Assist in processing deliveries and organising stockroom areas
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth store operations
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills in English;
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Friendly phone etiquette and professional demeanour when interacting with customers
- Ability to upsell products politely to maximise sales opportunities
- Good organisational skills for maintaining neat displays and stock management
- Previous retail or cashier experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
