JCS Livestock are specialists in animal shipping and have been at the forefront of pet shipping for over 30 years! Dealing with the arrival of cats, dogs and other pets, we are excited to announce we have an amazing opportunity to join our Livestock department!
Working on our busy Livestock import team you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to our pet owners alongside expediting the clearance of their pets so that they can get home as quick as possible after arrival. This is a fantastic opportunity to kick start your career within Freight Forwarding whilst dealing with like minded animal lovers every day.
Responsibilities:
- Offer friendly assistance with pet owners face-to-face, over the phone, and via email for support with import procedures, arrivals, deliver / collection & payment arrangements.
- Perform Customs Clearances using CDS (training given if required)
- Respond quickly and correctly to enquiries, providing quotes, updates, and general advice.
- Coordinate with DEFRA, Heathrow Animal Reception Centre, Animal Aircare, HMRC, and other government bodies to ensure customs clearances are completed.
- Resolve any issues or irregularities when needed
- Create and maintain detailed files
- Occasionally collect documents from around the airport, with assistance available and company vehicles provided.
- Accurately allocate costs to jobs and raise invoices.
The candidate
Essential:
- Fantastic customer service experience
- Excellent communicator
- Proactive approach to tasks, performing them efficiently and promptly with a ‘Can Do’ attitude
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to work as a team and individually
- Must be an animal lover.
- Valid driving licence.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor, as customer service is key to this role
- Punctuality is essential for effective teamwork.
Desirable:
- Experience with Boxtop software.
- Knowledge of pet and commercial animal clearances, including fish, eggs, CITES, etc.
- Experience with completing customs declarations on CDS (desirable)
Training will be provided.
The package and company
£24,000-26,000 per annum
Working a total hours 42.5 per week (8.5 hour days broken into 3 shifts to cover business hours between 7am and 11pm) this is a role that requires a great level of flexibility, and the ability to commute to site (Feltham). Weekend cover on rotating basis is also required.
