A beautiful private estate in West Berkshire is seeking a Groundskeeper to join their dedicated and experienced team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to work within a supportive and professional environment for appreciative Principals.
The role would suit a hardworking, enthusiastic, and hands-on individual who is happy to ensure the functionality, cleanliness, and maintenance of the outdoor areas of a large property including formal & informal gardens and other outside locations. The successful candidate will play an important role in the upkeeping of the car fleet, maintaining water features and clearing gutters. Also, willing to assist wherever needed and is keen to grow their skills across a broad range of gardening and estate maintenance tasks. Flexibility and a team-spirited approach are key to success in this role.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, grounds maintenance, car fleet maintenance and general gardening, pruning, caring for lawns, cleaning water features, and clearing gutters. A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in are essential.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with a one hour unpaid break. This is a live-out position, so the candidate must be local to the area or willing to relocate.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
- General gardening and grounds maintenance
- Pruning trees, shrubs, and plants
- Cleaning and maintaining water features
- Clearing and cleaning gutters
- Carrying out seasonal tasks such as mulching, leaf clearance, and lawn care
- Washing cars
- Operating garden tools and machinery under supervision
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the grounds
- Ad hoc maintenance tasks as required by the team

- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all-weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and pride in work
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Flexibility to assist with a wide range of tasks
- Must be local to Berkshire or willing to relocate
- Previous experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential)
- A valid, clean UK driving licence and own vehicle
- Fluent spoken English and the right to live and work in the UK
- Excellent checkable references
