Project & Operations Support (Construction)
Location: Knutsford (office-based)
Hours: 30–40 per week, with flexible hours (including around school times)
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) + benefits
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Project & Operations Support professional to join our friendly, collaborative team. This is a varied and hands-on role supporting our Project Managers and site teams, helping ensure projects are organised, compliant, and delivered smoothly.
If you enjoy being the “glue” that holds projects together—keeping documentation in order, tracking actions, coordinating resources, and supporting site activity—this could be an excellent opportunity.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll provide essential project administration and operational support across live building control and audio-visual projects, including:
1) Project Support & Administration
- Document control: Maintain accurate, up-to-date project documentation (e.g. SharePoint / Teams).
- Scheduling & reporting: Update project schedules, trackers, and dashboards to provide timely information to project leads.
- Resource scheduling: Coordinate engineers, site visits, and project activities, ensuring company calendars are kept up to date.
- Meetings: Organise project meetings, prepare agendas and paperwork, take minutes, and maintain action logs.
- Health & Safety: Support Project Managers with the preparation and submission of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Procurement support: Assist with ordering materials and subcontractor services.
2) Operational & Site Support
- Resource coordination: Support the coordination of site staff, materials, and subcontractors.
- Service coordination: Arrange service calls and follow up on actions.
- Procurement & cost control: Assist with tenders, PQQs, raising purchase orders, and tracking spend where required.
- Compliance: Help ensure adherence to industry standards, health & safety regulations, and quality procedures.
- Health & Safety liaison: Act as a point of support for H&S documentation and processes.
- Logistics & site setup: Support site mobilisation and maintain operative competency records (e.g. CSCS, DBS)
What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from individuals who are organised, proactive, and confident working across both office and site environments.
Key skills & experience:
- Experience in a project support, operations, or coordination role—ideally within construction, electrical, building services, or a technical environment.
- Good working knowledge of health & safety regulations.
- Software skills: Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with engineer scheduling tools or AV design software (e.g. D-Tools) is an advantage.
- Communication: Confident liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and clients, with clear written and verbal communication.
- Organisation: Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple workstreams.
- Technical awareness: Familiarity with construction processes, design coordination, and HSEQ principles.
Qualifications (advantageous):
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health & Safety (or similar).
- Project or operations management qualifications such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
