THE OPPORTUNITY
Every day, millions of people rely on clean, safe drinking water without ever thinking about the complex infrastructure that makes it possible. At Stantec, we're helping water companies plan, optimise and transform those networks, delivering innovative modelling solutions that improve resilience, reduce leakage and support sustainable investment across the UK.
We're looking for a Water Network Modeller to join our growing clean water team, with opportunities available across a number of our UK offices and hybrid working to support flexibility. You'll become part of one of the UK's leading water modelling teams, working alongside experienced engineers, digital specialists and industry experts on some of the sector's most exciting AMP8 programmes. With a diverse portfolio of projects, structured career development and exposure to the latest digital technologies, you'll have every opportunity to develop your technical expertise while helping shape the future of the UK's water infrastructure.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will play an important role in delivering clean water modelling projects that support the planning, operation and optimisation of water distribution networks.
You will:
- Develop, calibrate and analyse hydraulic network models using industry-standard software.
- Support projects focused on network optimisation, pressure management, leakage reduction and asset performance.
- Interpret model results to develop practical, evidence-based engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across modelling, digital, asset management and design.
- Contribute to technical reports and project deliverables while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Continue developing your technical capability with the support of experienced colleagues and mentors.
YOUR IMPACT
The work you deliver will directly support investment decisions that improve water resilience, reduce leakage and provide reliable water supplies for communities across the UK. Your modelling expertise will help clients understand network performance, identify opportunities for improvement and develop sustainable solutions that meet the challenges of population growth, climate change and increasing environmental expectations.
As part of a collaborative national team, you'll contribute to innovative projects that combine engineering expertise with digital technology, helping shape the future of the water industry while continuing to build your own technical and professional career.
ABOUT YOU Essential
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering or a related discipline.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
Desirable
- Experience working with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS.
- Experience supporting UK water company projects.
