<p><span><strong>EQUANS are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to be based in Blackburn for our Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital contract. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>General Overview</strong></span></p> <p><span>The post holder will have the required maintenance skills to ensure the safe and continuous operation of the site. Working within the response team and reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor and Mechanical Manager.</span></p> <p><span>•To undertake a proactive role in carrying out maintenance, repairs and inspection of building services, fabric, fixtures and fittings. All in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance.</span></p> <p><span>•The hours for this role will be 40 hour week.</span></p> <p><span>•Represent Equans in a respectful and professional manner.</span></p> <p><span>•Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on building services in accordance with the PPM programme and personal competence and training.</span></p> <p><span>•Respond in a timely manner to ad-hoc breakdown requests as identified by the help desk / supervisor / manager or as a minimum, as per site contract.</span></p> <p><span>•Assist in Carrying out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.</span></p> <p><span>•Assist in Carrying out systematic fault finding in a logical and safe manner on malfunctioning equipment.</span></p> <p><span>•Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory and Company guidelines.</span></p> <p><span>•Safely operate all types of access equipment, hand and power tools in accordance with health & safety, manufacturers’ guidelines and relevant training.</span></p> <p><span>•Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to health & safety and infection control procedures.</span></p> <p><span>•Maintain records as and when appropriate and as required, whether written or electronic.</span></p> <p><span>•Willingness to assist and work flexibly with other colleagues and or contractor’s staff</span></p> <p><span>•Ensure liaison with Wards and Departments as required, ensuring there is minimum disruption whilst carrying out work.</span></p> <p><span>•Undertake training where necessary to learn and maintain skills and to maintain and develop the requirements of the service.</span></p> <p><span>•Carry out risk assessments on-site as instructed by supervisor / manager.</span></p> <p><span>•Collaborate and co-operate with the partners and colleagues to deliver a customer focused service.</span></p> <p><span>•Use initiative to make appropriate decisions, including when working out of hours.</span></p> <p><span>•Diligently complete all required job cards and other work-related paperwork to the required standard whether electronic or hard copy.</span></p> <p><span>•Complete work within the allotted timeframes.</span></p> <p><span>•Carry out any other identified tasks commensurate with role.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>Impact:</strong></span></p> <p><span>Their statutory and contractual obligations whilst simultaneously providing an excellent service to our customers.</span></p> <p><span>The Maintenance Response Operative makes up part of the facilities maintenance team which contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the estate and associated engineering systems that is conducive for the delivery of healthcare.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>Complexity:</strong></span></p> <p><span>The Maintenance Assistant will complete engineering and maintenance activities and undertake duties for which they are trained and competent to do.
