Support, Educate and Nurture. Sense Education are passionate about helping young people and improving the learning journey for young people with SEND.

We are currently looking to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistants in the Kendal area. If you are considering a career in Education working as a SEND Teaching Assistant is a great way to see the classroom and understand how a career in education can develop.

We consider applicants from all course types, in particular post grads from Childhood Studies, Psychology, Criminology, Health and Social Care, Sports Studies can be very useful in some specialist provisions.

Take time to understand each pupils needs.
Someone who can offer a safe and nurturing approach to education

The role

You will be working in a classroom and with pupils that most suits your skill set.
You could be supporting pupils with Social, emotional and mental health needs, Autism, or physical disabilities.
You will be required to work closely with the Teaching team to deliver specialist education plans for pupils with EHCPs
There could be the opportunity to work with other educational specialists such as Speech and Language therapists, educational psychologists, Art therapists to name a few.
You will be expected to create a safe and nurturing environment for pupils to achieve their best.

Qualifications & Requirements

A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree, or equivalent)
Experience supporting children with SEND
Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

Location - Kendal

Role Type: Full time / Part time /Temp - Perm

Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.90 per hour

Hours

8.45am–3.30pm, Monday to Friday. Open to full-time and part-time applicants.

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
