It can sometimes be a tough job dealing with the realities of bereavement and pet afterlife services, but what keeps us motivated and gives us satisfaction is know that we're making a difference, delivering exceptional customer service and care to give comfort to our owners when they need it the most.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK’s leading providers of pet cremation services. Based at The Pet Crematorium Durham, we are now looking for an empathetic and enthusiastic individual to join our experienced team as an Aftercare Advisor.

We are looking for someone with experience in customer or customer support with stong organisational and administration skills. This role would suit someone who has had previous experience working within the veterinary. We provide full training and ongoing support but would love to hear from your if you have:

Empathy for others when they are in need
Exceptional listeninfg and communication skills
Detail orientated to ensure all specific wishes are captured and carried out
A desire to help and support others in their time of need
Pride and satisfaction in delivering outstanding customer care

Our Aftercare Advisors play a vital role for our owners in our pet cremation service. You will be working in our crematorium liaising with customers and clients and also travelling to owner’s homes. You will be supporting bereaved and sometimes upset owners going through the toughest experience a pet owner can go through, providing that much needed friendly and empathetic face to help them make the right choices for them.

What will you be doing?

Helping us to care for our clients by taking and making phone calls to help them make suitable arrangements for the cremation of their beloved pets
Responding to any enquiries/queries from general public and veterinary clients about our services
Maintaining a record of calls and financial transactions on Company systems
Looking after pet owners who choose to visit the crematorium in person. You may also be required to attend home addresses to carry out our Gold Leaf Collection Service – a full driving licence is essential.
Carrying out our clients wishes in relation to keepsakes which could include taking of paw prints, fur clippings and also possible preparation of pets for family viewings in the Crematorium Remembrance Room
Ensuring that our clients wishes are followed by assisting with the packing, checking and return of their pets’ ashes
Other ad-hoc duties as and when required.

This role is varied, working by yourself as well as part of a team, you will be working 40 hours a week from Monday to Friday 8.30am-5.00pm, however, part time and job share will also be considered.

In addition to a salary of £12.71 per hour, you will receive a range of benefits including:
25 days' annual leave (plus 8 Bank Holidays)
Additional day's holiday for every full year worked (up to a maximum of 5 additional days)
