We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at MBM Vets on a full-time 12-month contract.

MBM Veterinary Group is a long-established, forward-thinking practice situated in the scenic region of Ayrshire. With branches in Kilmarnock, Mauchline, and Beith, we provide comprehensive small animal, equine, and farm animal services across a wide geographical area.

You'll be joining a dedicated and experienced Small Animal team comprising:

20 Veterinary Surgeons, including certificate holders in Cardiology and Surgery, with others currently pursuing further qualifications

16 Registered Veterinary Nurses

4 Animal Nursing Assistants

14 Reception Team colleagues

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first-opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

40 hours per week

Working across 4 or 5 days per week

Participation in a 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota (8:30am - 1:00pm)

No out-of-hours or on-call duties

General Responsibilities

Inpatient care

Assisting in theatre, dental, and diagnostic procedures

Anaesthetic monitoring

Nurse consultations

Assisting with laparoscopic procedures and laboratory work

Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS

Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing

Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
