The Role
As a Range Safety Support Worker, you’ll work as part of the Range Resource team and be responsible to the Resource Manager. The post holder will support ongoing site trials ensuring the safety of the site.
Day-to-day, you’ll undertake a range of duties across the site, providing key support to the wider teams, site leadership and carry out general duties as a QinetiQ member of staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as a lookout and range signaller
Ensuring compliance with Risk Assessments and Task instructions
Setting up and prepare ranges in accordance with the relevant documentation
Maintaining core module skills and training (manual handling etc)
Ensuring standards and quality of work are to the desired level
Ensuring robust application of Health, Safety & Environmental procedures and processes
Essential experience of the Range Safety Support Worker:
Proven ability to solve problems
Good understanding of Health and Safety
Ability to work to set processes
Have the ability to thrive as part of a team and work independently where appropriate
Tele-handler and forklift experience would be advantageous but not essential
Essential qualifications for the Range Safety Support Worker:
Full clean driving licence

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Pendine site with a minimum average site attendance of five days per week. Compressed hours (9 day fortnight) available.

The QinetiQ Pendine facility, located on the coast of South Wales, is renowned for its extensive capabilities in testing and evaluating defence systems, particularly in the fields of weapons and vehicle performance. Pendine plays a critical role in the UK’s defence landscape providing essential services that contribute to the development and assurance of military hardware.
