Leeds Trinity University has made significant investment in recent years in the development of its portfolio and estate for the delivery of Nursing and Allied Health education. We commenced the delivery of pre-registration nurse education in 2024 and now offer all four fields of practice. We are now expanding our Allied Health Professions portfolio and are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist and academic to lead the development of a new BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy programme, alongside our growing Allied Health Professions provision.
As Programme Lead and Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy, you will work alongside experienced allied health academics to lead the design, validation and approval of the new programme, developing an innovative, research-informed curriculum that reflects contemporary occupational therapy practice and the evolving health and social care landscape. You will provide academic and professional leadership through programme delivery, curriculum design, teaching, assessment, practical skills teaching and student support, ensuring an outstanding student experience and a curriculum that prepares graduates for contemporary practice.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Nursing, Biomedical Science, Health and Social Care and Social Work, contributing to an inclusive and multidisciplinary learning environment. A key aspect of the role will be establishing, developing and maintaining high-quality practice learning placements and partnerships with NHS, local authority, independent and voluntary sector organisations. You will build strong relationships with employers, practice educators and professional stakeholders, contributing to programme enhancement, scholarship and the continued growth of the University's Allied Health Professions portfolio.
Candidates must be registered Occupational Therapists with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), have substantial clinical experience, experience of teaching in higher education, and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), or an equivalent recognised professional teaching qualification. Experience of programme development, validation and approval, curriculum leadership, and establishing and developing practice learning partnerships is essential.
