Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Regional Sales Manager to join our team in the United Kingdom. Based in our Northern region, you will play a vital role in driving sales growth and strengthening our customer relationships across the region, embodying our company's values of integrity and excellence.
(This role covers Nottingham, Leeds & Washington areas).
Responsibilities
Sales
- Identify, prioritise, prospect and win regional fleet service contracts and maintenance agreements.
- Work with the Regional Operations Manager to determine key target accounts and secure profitable business across service packages, maintenance plans, and fleet support solutions.
- Promote and sell the full range of R&J Strang fleet services—including mobile maintenance, inspections, repairs, compliance support, and breakdown assistance—to fleet operators, prioritising strategic customers and company growth objectives.
- Achieve agreed service‑sales targets and performance outcomes within scheduled timelines.
- Ensure adherence to pricing strategies and profitability expectations by managing pricing autonomy responsibly according to R&J Strang commercial guidelines, customer mix, and regional market dynamics.
- Coordinate sales efforts closely with internal teams, including operations, scheduling, customer service, and the central support office, to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery for new customers.
Business Development
- Win and expand new business with fleet operators, logistics companies, rental providers, and transport businesses and any other business opportunities
- Build strong, long‑term relationships with customers by consistently recommending service solutions that improve uptime, compliance, efficiency, and operating cost control.
- Present, promote, and sell R&J Strang’s service offerings using solid operational and commercial arguments tailored to customer needs.
- Conduct needs assessments and cost‑benefit analyses to match customers with the right fleet‑support solutions.
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships through proactive communication and reliable follow‑through.
- Ensure quick and effective resolution of customer issues or service concerns to maximise customer satisfaction and retention.
- Reach out to new prospects through direct outreach, field visits, networking, and structured prospecting activity.
- Maximise service mix and product uptake in line with R&J Strang commercial priorities, encouraging customers to adopt preventative maintenance and full‑service fleet packages.
Performance Management
- Analyse the territory potential, track sales and status reports
- Monthly customer forecast to be provided for Group Products including Digital Solutions
- To maximise CMC% and minimise rebate accrual as measured by the fleet sales forecast & accrual file
- Ensure full communication of customer data in Conti360 contracts Inc. fleet lists and mileages where required.
- To work with all key stakeholders in support of customer accounts requiring field / depot visits in support of overall account management responsibility
- Supply management with reporting on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Monitor and analyse the development of unit sales, price, brand mix, CMC and market share by customer, brand and product group within the sales area.
- Provide regular updates to fleets in terms of KPIs in the form Dundas/Excel
- Undertake the upkeep and integration of customer data, for users, in accordance with Company guidelines, CRM, tools and systems.
Other
- Keep up-to-date of R&J Strang best practices and promotional trends
- Liaise with Truck Sales Managers and other equity and independent sales managers so that the full sales potential of each fleet is realised
- Continuously improve through feedback
- Meet individual and team sales targets
- Attend meetings, sales events and training as required
- Report and provide feedback to management using financial statistical data
- Maintain and expand customer database (CRM) within your assigned territory
- Manage and maintain your own period expense, support and cost budgets
- Maintain call activity and call reports for all meaningful customer contacts through CRM using such information to facilitate effective and efficient sales, reporting and planning
- Prepare customer proposals, tenders and letters for all new customers
- Professional Experience
- Successful previous sales experience, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to goal
- Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
- Proven ability to understand and analyse sales performance metrics

- High standard of education
