Kirklees Active Leisure (KAL) is one of the most progressive Leisure Trusts in the UK and we're very proud of our achievements! We have over 3 million visits per year with an annual turnover more than £15m, with over 17,000 members and over 6,000 people on swimming lessons.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Aquatics team. KAL deliver a full aquatic pathway cycle from Learn 2 Swim to Training and Development which aims to make a positive impact on people’s health & wellbeing through the delivery of activity across Kirklees.
This is a 37 hour position based across our KAL sites. The rota is as follows (times may be slightly amended but days will remain the same)
Monday: 10.45 - 19.30
Tuesday: 08.45 - 17.15
Wednesday: 08.45 - 17.15
Friday 10.45 - 19.30
Saturday 08.00 - 17.00 (alternate weeks)
This is a Grade E (£31,879 /annum) position with the opportunity for progression based on the role profile criteria and business need.

Requirements of Assistant Aquatics and Activity Manager
- Hold the Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification or STA Award
- Hold the SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming to Babies and Toddlers or achieve/working towards within 6 months of employment
- Hold the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or have the ability to complete within the first 3 months of employment
- Experience in supporting projects and product development
- Line management experience of diverse and remote staff
Responsibilities of Assistant Aquatics and Activity Manager
- Manage, lead and assist site Aquatics & Activity teams ensuring support and challenge is provided as appropriate
- Support and drive the development of robust business plans and partnerships to enable KAL to maximise on commercial and operational utilisation
- Enhance opportunities for all participants, ensuring high quality standards, in line with the National Governing Bodies (NGB) Frameworks
- Engage and collaborate with partners to maximise the opportunity for growth and development within the programmes
- Work across all internal KAL departments to develop and create systems and generate marketing and sales opportunities.
