Learn with SAT is a national tuition agency that works with over 40 local authorities across England. The agency specialises in the staffing of EOTAS/EOTISC educational packages, with a passion for supporting young persons who are neurodivergent and alternatively educated.
Main Purpose of Our Role
We are now recruiting for an experienced SEND Co-ordinator to oversee and manage our Special Educational Needs responsibilities across our entire portfolio of EOTAS/EOTISC provisions on a national basis.
Salary will be commensurate with the importance of this role and the experience of the successful applicant.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversight of all our Tutors and Learning Support Assistants to ensure compliance with Local Authority and SEND policies. Ensuring all our staff have the knowledge, training and skills to ensure adherence to SEN policies and best practice, and to teach children with special learning requirements to a high standard, in a child-led, bespoke provision of education.
Additionally the successful candidate will be required to:
- Support and identify children with special educational needs and refer to external professionals and organisations, where additional assessment and support is required
- Co-ordinate educational and therapeutic provision and staff for children with SEND, who are predominantly on EOTAS/EOTISC packages
- Liaise with parents, carers and commissioning bodies of children with SEND
- Liaise with other providers, outside agencies, educational psychologists and external agencies particularly for children receiving support. Ensuring that our agency keeps the records of all pupils with EHCPs up to date.
- To internally coordinate with our procurement, recruitment and operations team to develop business opportunities with Local Authorities
- Oversee and coordinate complex case management, including attending CiN and Professionals Meetings
- Attend Annual Reviews and support EOTAS/EOTISC package staff with report writing as part of the Annual Review process
- Attend MDTs on behalf of Learn with SAT staff, providing verbal and written feedback on student attainment and progression towards EHCP outcomes
- Perform quality assurance of tutors, including supervisions, training and lesson planning and write ups
- KCSIE; safeguarding training and policy updates
- Write risk assessments and safety plans for student outings
The success candidate will having the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
Qualifications and Training
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NaSENCo), or a willingness to complete it within 3 years of appointment
- Bachelor’s Degree
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years teaching experience
- Consistent record of good and outstanding teaching, planning, progression and assessment
- Experience of planning and conducting training sessions
- Skills and Knowledge
- Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Sound knowledge of KCSIE statutory guidance
- Extensive knowledge of alternative education, particularly EOTAS/EOTISC
- Effective written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of professionals
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
Pay: £34,663.00-£45,000.00 per year
