Contracted Hours: 15 hours per week.
Contracted hours: Morning session 07.25 am to 08.40 am, Afternoon session 15.00 to 16.45.
Responsible to: Childcare Supervisor, Head of School and Business Manager.
Employment Start Date: 1st September 2026.
This role is open to candidates who can cover both the AM and PM Childcare sessions however applications for either AM or PM only will be considered.
The Directors of Exceed Learning Partnership and Governors of Sheep Dip Lane Academy are looking to appoint a Childcare Assistant for our Wrap Around Care provision for pupils before and after school.
Sheep Dip Lane Academy is part of Exceed Learning Partnership, a Multi Academy Trust that currently comprises of 10 Academies, Bentley High Street Primary School, Carr Lodge Academy, Edlington Victoria Academy, Hall Cross Academy, Hill Top Academy, The Mallard Academy, Rosedale Primary School, Sandringham Primary School, Sheep Dip Lane Academy, and Willow Primary School.

As a Childcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pupils' daily learning, development, and well-being. You will work closely with class teachers to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children feel confident to explore and grow.
Key Responsibilities:

Support Learning: Assist in the delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities in line with the curriculum.
- Nurture & Care: Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, and social care for children, ensuring they feel safe and supported.
- Supervision: Monitor children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and lunch breaks to ensure safety and positive behavior.
- Group Work: Lead small group activities (such as reading, arts and crafts, or phonics games) under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Observation: Help track and record children’s progress and development milestones.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
