Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Optical Assistant to join our professional team. This role involves supporting optometrists and optical technicians in delivering high-quality eye care services. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills. This position offers valuable experience within a reputable optical practice, with opportunities for professional development and growth.

Duties

Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of optical equipment and instruments
Supporting the fitting and adjustment of spectacles
Providing exceptional customer service by guiding patients through their eye care journey
Managing patient records accurately and efficiently
Assisting in laboratory tasks such as lens edging and assembly, ensuring quality standards are met
Conducting basic visual assessments under supervision
Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the optical practice environment
Supporting stock management, including ordering and inventory checks
Willingness to cover at our other local branches when required

Experience

Prior optical experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanour
Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service setting is beneficial but not mandatory

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about eye health and eager to develop their skills within a supportive environment. All positions are paid, including internships, ensuring valuable work experience while contributing to our team’s success.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
