Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator/Welder to join our small manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, primarily using mig welding techniques, to produce high-quality products. Jig work and one off‘s with the occasional site work. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in welding and fabrication, looking to contribute to a dynamic and professional environment.

Duties

Perform Mig welding on various materials, including plate, box section etc, ensuring precise and clean welds in accordance with technical specifications.
Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
Work with different types of welding processes relevant to welding standards.
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with equipment and ensure optimal operation during fabrication processes.
Measure materials accurately using basic math skills to ensure proper fit and alignment during assembly.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for cutting, grinding, drilling, and assembling metal parts.
Assist in the assembly of fabricated components into finished products or subassemblies.
Maintain a clean and organised work area adhering to safety standards at all times.

Experience

Proven experience in Mig welding and general fabrication work is essential.
Familiarity with welding standards and practices is highly desirable.
Hands-on experience working with hand tools, pillar drills, band saws and power tools is required.
Strong understanding of mechanical principles combined with basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Previous experience working in a manufacturing or workshop environment is preferred.
