About The Role

JOB TITLE: SECTION ENGINEER
DIVISON: Civil Engineering
LOCATION: Liverpool

GRAHAM has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, complex projects and is now looking for an experienced Section Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team in Liverpool.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact on a significant civil engineering project, whilst growing your career in a supportive and professional environment.

If you have a strong background in civil engineering, ideally within roadworks, and previous experience in a similar Section Engineer role, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage subcontractors and site operations to meet project deadlines
Review drawings, quantities, and schedule materials
Liaise with consultants and subcontractors
Monitor site labour and ensure HSE compliance
Maintain quality records and resolve technical issues
Conduct material testing and instrument calibration
Keep a detailed site diary and support the wider site team
Drive innovation and continuous improvement
Support the Project Manager with construction delivery

Essential Criteria:

Extensive background in Civil Engineering
Proven experience in a Section Engineer role - ideally roadworks
CSR/SAFEPASS/CSCS card
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience supervising subcontractors and managing site operations
Strong problem-solving and planning abilities
Willingness to travel or stay away from home if required

Desirable Criteria:

Familiarity with testing and calibration of site instruments
Knowledge of procurement processes and material scheduling
Experience liaising with consultants and multidisciplinary teams
Awareness of Lean construction principles or continuous improvement initiatives
