We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable Housekeeper to join our operational team at Blaby Westfield House Hotel Ltd in Leicester. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organizational skills and a passion for cleanliness to contribute directly to our guest experience. Working closely under the guidance of our Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for servicing guest bedrooms, maintaining pristine public areas, and ensuring our hotel consistently reflects high standards of hygiene and presentation. This position is suitable for hard-working individuals who are eager to develop their skills within a supportive, dynamic hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
- Room Servicing: Clean and prepare guest bedrooms and bathrooms to the hotel's premium brand standards, including changing bed linen, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing.
- Public Area Maintenance: Assist in keeping public areas, corridors, reception spaces, and communal facilities clean, tidy, and welcoming throughout the day.
- Inventory & Stock Control: Monitor and manage housekeeping supplies, guest amenities, and linens, reporting any low stock levels to the Operations Manager to ensure seamless workflow.
- Chemical Safety (COSHH): Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment in strict accordance with health, safety, and COSHH regulations.
- Reporting Maintenance: Identify and report any room damage, faulty appliances, or maintenance issues immediately to the management team to facilitate quick repairs.
- Guest Service Support: Respond politely and efficiently to guest requests for extra pillows, towels, or amenities, providing professional and courteous support at all times.
- Efficient Record Keeping: Follow daily room allocation sheets and update room status logs accurately to support reception workflows.
Experience
- Prior Experience: Previous experience in a professional housekeeping, room attendant, or commercial cleaning role is preferred, though full training on hotel standards will be provided.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional standards of cleanliness with the ability to spot things that others miss, ensuring high quality control across every room.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physical operational tasks efficiently under pressure, meeting timed turnaround targets for room changeovers.
- Team Communication: Reliable communication skills with the ability to work effectively alongside team members, supervisors, and external laundry partners.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills to manage tasks independently, prioritize rooms logically, and adhere to daily hotel scheduling.
- Legal Compliance: Eligible to live and work in the UK; willingness to undergo a standard background check if required.
